This is I belive the first of the X246 series (I'm willing to be proved wrong DJG) produced for less than a year maybe 6 months (Conjecture), This tank was produced from 1946 to 1949, stated as producing 300cp. The handle attaches via a ring/button with only one ring made from thin brass for holding the glass. The frame is screwed directly in to the tank. also a shorter handle than later models. Tech Data.

These lanterns are first of the X246 series, and were produced from 1946 to 1950, stated as producing 300cp. The handle attaches via a loop and the frame has changed to the frame that is more like the modern version.
